Job Description

DASA is seeking a Service Manager for our Alternative To Custody (ATC) program in Alice Springs. The ATC is a 10 bed residential facility that offers a six month program for Aboriginal Women only, providing an alternative to imprisonment for Aboriginal women in contact with the justice system.To be successful in this role you will need to be dynamic, resilient, innovative and have the highest level of integrity. You will need to be passionate about reducing the incarceration rates of Aboriginal women and improving their quality of life.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide operational supervision to the ATC teamPlan, coordinate & problem solve community issues, in collaboration with team membersFacilitate regular staff and client meetingsDrive stakeholder engagement to ensure service delivery remains at best practice and relevance to the client groupRole model healthy behaviours and maintain the highest of ethical standardsManage and maintain client programEnsure quality of service provision throughout the stages of assessment, case management, program participation and exitCoach and mentor staff and provide linkage and reporting to Senior ManagementProvide reports to funders and Senior Management as requiredPlay an active role in the provision of a safe and high quality service for both clients and staff, complying with all WHS legislation, DASA Policy and Procedures and engage enthusiastically in quality management processesRequired QualificationsDiploma in Community Services (AOD, Mental Health, Case Management or Human Services), with at least 7 years relevant experience, including management roles. Suitably experienced candidates without the formal qualification may be considered, provided there is a willingness to obtain the identified qualifications.Experience / Knowledge / SkillsExceptional communication skills and the ability to converse with a diverse range of residents, staff and stakeholders in a non-judgemental and culturally appropriate mannerAn understanding of the harms that can occur from alcohol or other drug useAbility to plan, coordinate and deliver community-based activitiesDemonstrated understanding of the Northern Territory Aboriginal Justice Agreement and its aimsThe ability to support staff to respond to challenging client behaviourRelevant experience in staff management, including operational supervision, performance management, mentoring, conciliating and coachingExperience in community services work, preferably a residential model of careThe ability to communicate with a high level of professionalism across all forms, including written, verbal and electronicDemonstrated experience in case management, including review of treatment and exit plans, with the ability to support and guide case managers in this regardExcellent time management capability, organisational skills and computer literacyThe ability to maintain the strictest of confidentiality at all timesConfidence in facilitating small group sessions with staff and/or clientsAn understanding of the NT Justice System and the social services sector in the Central Australian Region.An understanding of the elements of a Therapeutic Community.Special ConditionsThe successful candidate must be able to meet the following requirements:Hold a current and valid Drivers LicenseAbility to be On-Call on a rotating roster basisHold a current Working With Children Clearance (NT) Ochre CardWilling to work in a smoke free environment and undergo random drug & alcohol testingAll candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history check prior to being offered a contract.
