Join TasPorts as the Manager-Finance in the Launceston CBD.Your new companyHays is proud to partner with TasPorts in their search for a Manager - Finance to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. TasPorts is a State-owned company responsible for 10 Tasmanian ports and the Devonport Airport. Nearly all of Tasmania''s freight transit comes through a TasPorts-operated port, making them the gateway to Mainland Australia and beyond.Your new roleBased in the Launceston CBD and reporting to the CFO, this position will be a key part of the Senior Leadership team. Leading a team of 15, with 7 direct reports and operating with a high level of autonomy, you''ll manage the day-to-day finance function with passion and ensure sound financial control. Your core responsibilities will include:Financial Leadership & Compliance - Oversee the delivery of efficient and compliant financial accounting and administration services for TasPorts and its subsidiaries, and embed a strong internal control framework.Financial & Management Reporting - Lead the preparation of accurate and timely annual financial statements, month-end reports, and monthly board packs to support executive decision-making.Tax & Audit Management - Ensure compliance with income tax and indirect taxation obligations, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.Treasury & Risk Management - Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimise financial sustainability and mitigate financial risks.Process & Systems Enhancement - Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency and control.ERP Implementation & Systems Enhancement - Support the successful implementation of the new ERP system, driving process improvements and ensuring a smooth transition for financial operations.Advisory - Provide financial insights and advice to key stakeholders, supporting strategic and operational initiatives.Project Support - Contribute to finance transformation projects and other strategic initiatives as required.What you''ll need to succeedCA/CPA qualified, you''ll be an outcome-focused leader with the proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines within a regulated environment. You''ll have well-developed communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an analytical mindset that lends itself to problem-solving. High-level proficiency in Excel is essential, along with excellent system''s capability. You''ll enjoy problem-solving with key stakeholders across the organisation.
