From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant to support the Corps Officer in the delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army/Corps through development and facilitation of youth and childrens ministry, school chaplaincy, kids zone and community outreach, in an integrated setting.Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent part-time (16 hours/week) position based in Camberwell, Victoria.You will successfully:Coordinate the delivery of Corps programs and activities focused on children and their families in consultation with Corps Officers.Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery.Ensure programs and activities meet mission intentions, Corps goals and participant needs.Build relationships with children and their families engaged in childrens ministries.Recruit, train and effectively engage volunteers in line with TSA Policies and Procedures.Identify risks to participants, workers and TSA, bringing them to the attention of the Corps Officer and managing incidents in accordance with TSA processes.Monitor and review programs to ensure they operate within agreed budgets and comply with ChildSafe SP3 policies and procedures.Attend and participate in team meetings and events as required.You will have:Diploma of theology, ministry, teaching or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills.Relevant experience in leading and developing teams.Previous active involvement in church ministries.A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.Sound communication skills (written and verbal).Capacity to facilitate groups and one-to-one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups.A current and valid Working with Children Check.A current Victorian Driver''s licence.What we offer:Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.How to ApplyIf you''re excited by this unique opportunity and have a heart for working for an organisation that truly transforms lives, we would love to speak to you.
