This role is responsible for providing a comprehensive accounting and business partnering service across SE QLD Utilities Maintenance Contracts. The Finance Business Partner will provide support to the Operations team, encompassing financial and non-financial analysis, accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial control and governance as well as continuous improvement initiatives.Nature of position: Permanent, Full TimeLocation: Brisbane, QLDReporting Line: Finance Manager WaterKey ResponsibilitiesAccounting & ReportingPrepare, analyze and report contract financial results and forecasts.Preparation of weekly BU, program, and contract level financial performance reporting.Prepare and deliver monthly operational/management reports ensuring the reports accurately depict the trading result for each contract.Regularly meet with the Service Delivery Manager and other key management personnel to discuss trading performance and provide detailed insight into the Contracts monthly results.Financial ControlPrepare and submit monthly payment claims to the client and liaise with key management personnel as necessary to respond to claim review queries.Promote and support a cash is king culture and ensure that cash flow considerations are top of mind in commercial decision making.Assist the Finance Manager in overseeing the financial performance of the Contract.Assist the Service Delivery Manager and other key management personnel with their monthly forecasting obligations, including challenging, analyzing and verifying the assumptions and calculations included within the forecast.Assist management to develop an Annual Budget, including development of revised budget templates, and where applicable, developing a Capex Budget for their area of responsibility.Contract & CommercialAssist Commercial Manager and Asset Optimisation Manager with the engagement of on-ground operational teams to review day-to-day processes and governance to ensure annual TCOM targets are met or exceeded.Liaise with the client auditors.Participate in the adherence and maintenance of a comprehensive and integrated Commercial framework for Service Stream Group.Work with the wider Service Stream Utilities Team to identify opportunities to improve programs and minimize financial risk.LeadershipModel the Group Safety Value; We CARE about the safety of our people, our customers and the community.Provide strong financial leadership, advice and support to the operational team.Demonstrate personal energy and enthusiasm for both the immediate team and wider organisation, contributing to an environment which promotes positivity, good team spirit and support amongst all employees.Work collaboratively with client stakeholders, managers, and supervisors to embed a positive and proactive financially aware culture across the contract.About YouDesirable: Degree Qualified in Finance, Business Management (or equivalent), & preferably with CPA/CA (or equivalent).Desirable: Utilities industry experience OR large infrastructure maintenance experience.Min 5-7 Years in a Commercial / Financial / Project Controlling type role.Proven track record in the preparation of financial and management reporting, including forecasts and budgets.Strong communication skills and confidence in divisional interface with the ability to liaise with multiple Operations teams at various levels of management.Ability to manage day-to-day issues and resolve complex problems with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgement.Proactive and flexible approach with the ability to develop new initiatives and streamline processes.About UsService Stream is an equal opportunity ASX-listed business that develops and operates Australia''s essential services networks across telecommunications, utilities, transport, defence, and social infrastructure industries.
