Were on the lookout for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our workover operations in the oil and gas industry. In this role you will roam and provide support across multiple sites. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, youll be an essential part of our trades team, ensuring the rigs keep operating. Youll take the lead on all preventive and reactive maintenance for our workover rigs, working with our roaming team of electricians, welders, and other skilled trades. The point of hire is Toowoomba. In this role, for your two weeks on, you will live and work at camp with the rig crews and trades team. When you mobilise to site, youll be provided with a work vehicle (shared with your back-to-back), fully equipped with tooling, a laptop, and a work phone. The vehicle is for onsite work purposes during your swing and is handed over at the end of your rotation.What Youll Be Doing:Performing planned maintenance and servicing of transport equipment and drill rigsDiagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtimeProviding field support across multiple rig sitesWorking closely with the rig crews and roaming trades to keep operations running smoothlyMaintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs via our maintenance system (MEX)Living and working alongside the rig crews and trades teams at remote camps during your swingWhats On Offer:Even Time Roster: Enjoy 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule for a true work-life balance.Competitive Day Rate: Benefit from an attractive day rate.Comprehensive Benefits: Accommodation, uniforms, and meals provided.Training Rate: Get paid hourly for training.About You:Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalentKnowledge of Volvo trucks and CAT equipment (an advantage)Proven ability to fault-find and troubleshoot under pressureAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematicsGood understanding of pneumatics and hydraulicsAbility to work in remote locationsAbout Ventia:Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
