We offer an Ethos Dayan enriching learning experience that delves into the intricacies of Jewish history and culture.About the roleJewish Care Victoria has vacancies for Permanent Full-time Chef at our Residential Aged Care facility in Carnegie. In this role, you will assist with the preparation of meals, maintaining the dining rooms, and serving the residents in a respectful and collaborative environment. You will be joining a supportive dynamic team with a strong focus on providing outstanding service.What you will doMaintain the Food Safety Program guidelines.Ensure all staff in the catering department maintain safe food handling practices.Prepare, present, and serve high-quality meals and refreshments that meet clients individual needs.Adhere to Standardised menus and plans for meals, ensuring provision of choice for clients.Liaise with the wider care team to ensure clients are provided with meals that meet both their dietary requirements and texture-specific needs.Coordinate resources efficiently and effectively, including stock control, following cleaning schedules, periodic maintenance schedules, and maintenance of food services equipment.Oversee tasks and duties allocated to food services staff in line with their qualifications and/or experience.Monitor and develop staff on a regular basis, including on the job coaching.What you will bringRelevant Industry Training Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).Food Safety Supervisor Certification.Relevant experience working in health care or residential aged care settings.An understanding of and sensitivity to the issues related to providing services to older people.Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, special diet preparation, and staff management.Well-developed prioritization and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.Current police clearance and Statutory Declaration that does not preclude working in Aged Care.To be successful you requirePrevious experience as a Chef, preferably in the health care sector.Food Handlers Certificate.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail.Excellent can do attitude.Teamwork.Ability to identify and resolve problems.The benefits of working with Jewish CareGenerous not-for-profit salary packaging to increase your take home pay!Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.Staff Referral Bonus Program.Free onsite staff car park at our aged care facilities.Career development & advancement encouraged.We want your opinion and your experience.
