Youll develop and optimize risk and trading models across Origins energy trading portfolios, interest rate, and currency position, leveraging Origins Commodity Risk Management Systems (CRMS).Reporting to the Risk Systems Manager, youll refine best-practice risk methodologies, model Earnings at Risk and Value at Risk, and deliver executive-level risk reporting, all while playing a key role in navigating the future of energy markets.Develop, implement, and enhance quantitative risk and trading models to support decision-making.Run, debug, and improve models to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.Manage data requirements for risk modeling, ensuring timely and accurate inputs.Liaise with key stakeholders, including trading teams, to validate risk modeling assumptions.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of risk reporting.Interpret data from multiple sources, assess risks, and identify areas for model improvements.Collaborate with stakeholders across business to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and enhance risk modeling practices.What will you bring?Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. quantitative finance, finance, economics, engineering, CFA, GARP.Experience in a risk management/middle office analytical function.Understanding of portfolio risk measures [EaR, VaR, CFaR, etc.]Advanced Python, SQL & Excel VBA skills.Preferred experience or curiosity in energy markets.So, why join us?Discounted Origin products benefits for employees, including Electrical, Gas and Internet offers!Competitive salary + annual performance bonus + performance based reviews.Origin 360 Electric Vehicles (EV) employee subscription offers a fantastic range of EVs, with flexible month-to-month plans and no lock-in contract.Free and confidential counselling for employees and family members.A great high energy team, that encourages interesting, rewarding, and engaging work!Origin - Where good change happensAt Origin, were powered by people who believe in creating change.We are committed to fostering a diverse, gender equitable workforce, where everyone is welcome, and all applications are evaluated on merit and potential.
