The RoleOur Sportsbook platform is to be the most insight driven betting platform and in the last few years we''ve invested heavily in our data capabilities. Focussing on our Sportsbook product, our Data Engineers will play a critical role in streamlining and optimising data management processes, ensuring faster, more reliable, and data-driven decision-making. Given the dynamic nature of the industry, leveraging real-time insights, maintaining data integrity, and enhancing operational efficiency are essential for delivering a seamless customer experience while ensuring regulatory compliance.We are now at the next stage of our journey, building our capability for developing end-to-end machine learning data products, from research conducted by our Data Scientists through to production applications built by our Machine Learning Engineers. Our Data Engineering team will align with cross-functional product teams and contribute to the development of high-quality Sportsbook data products. We are currently focusing on areas including personalisation and relevancy, and customer risk management.Additionally, we are building the core toolset and capability required for our product and data engineering teams to scale efficiently and iterate rapidly. This includes developing a Data Lakehouse for use in both research and production contexts, and building the tooling we need to build, monitor and test our data products.About YouData Engineering pipeline design and implementation experience within a commercial environment.Experience in the delivery of data solutions in complex enterprises.Experience working with metadata-based ELT/ETL frameworks.Experience using Python, Scala or Java code against large-scale, cloud-based data warehouses that make use of big-data frameworks like Spark, Kafka, etc.Prior experience working in/with DevOps teams and comfortable with DevOps/SRE thinking.Previous experience in working with legacy data warehouses and reverse-engineering designs from undocumented code.Write SQL queries to facilitate data extraction and manipulation.Develop BI reports and dashboards to assist commercial and product managers on their day to day activities.Experience working in a scrum-based agile environment.Demonstrated experience in breaking down complex problems and projects into manageable goals.BenefitsWe are in a fantastic new office near Barangaroo, close to Wynyard station.Our office has a sports hub, if you want to challenge a mate to a game of table tennis or darts.Fancy a good cup of coffee?
