Associate, Workplace Relations (Business Law WA)About the RoleBusiness Law WA Pty Limited is an incorporated legal practice owned by the Chamber of Commerce Western Australia (CCIWA), committed to providing practical, strategic, and proactive legal advice to businesses across WA.The role of an Associate, Workplace Relations, will have you working within our Employment Law unit, building on the current services provided to our existing and expanding client base. You will provide expert employment law services to businesses and develop strong professional relationships with clients, whilst mentoring our junior lawyers.This is a full-time, permanent position that will be based in the Perth CBD office.Key responsibilities include:Handling complex employment law issues and providing practical solutions to our clientsAchieving various financial targetsContinuously maintaining an active client base and enhancing the pipelineParticipating in business development activities including regularly attending networking functions and preparation of high-quality presentations or articles to existing and prospective clientsSupporting, coaching, and mentoring junior team members in technical matters while fostering a supportive and respectful team environmentAbout youThe right candidate will possess the ability to handle complex issues, provide practical solutions, and have a collaborative mindset. Above all, you possess a strong commercial acumen and the belief in supporting WA businesses.You will have:Tertiary qualification in Law and 2+ years post admission experienceStrong knowledge of employment law and industrial relations, with demonstrated experience across areas including:Enterprise agreements & bargaining strategiesEmployee performance managementTermination and redundanciesAdvising on general legal compliance, particularly under the Fair Work ActExperience in the preparation and interpretation of employment contractual documentation and adviceAbility to accurately interpret legislation, regulation, and rulesPrevious experience supervising and reviewing work completed by junior lawyersAbility to work autonomously with a strong work ethicExcellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledgeAdvanced communication skills, with a proven ability to form strong networks at all levels and build client basesCurrent practicing certificateCurrent Drivers LicenceCurrent National Police ClearanceAbout CCIWACCIWA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been the voice of business for more than 130 years.
