Full time, Fixed Term 24/03/2026 / Salary Band $112,200 - $128,304 (dependent on experience)La Trobe University Bundoora CampusDeliver best in class events which drive demand and brand awareness of La Trobe UniversityAbout the positionThe Recruitment Events Specialist plays a vital role in curating exceptional events tailored to elevate La Trobe Universitys acquisition and conversion strategy. Focused on delivering best in class events, this position helps drive the objective of attracting and engaging prospective domestic students across Australia.As a specialist in event management, the position takes the lead in planning and executing strategic events for prospective students such as Open Days, career exhibitions, experiential activities and other engagement activity. By leveraging innovative event tactics and fostering impactful engagement initiatives, this role directly contributes to achieving the Universitys strategic student recruitment goals.The Domestic Student Recruitment Team is responsible for implementing an acquisition and conversion strategy on behalf of the University in order to achieve its strategic goal of recruiting high quality domestic applications. This includes management of course enquiries, business development, facilitation of direct admissions and alternative entry schemes and the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment across Australia.Some of your duties will include:Strategically manage and execute events and projects to drive interest and consideration for La Trobe University across all domestic audiences, ensuring alignment with the University''s strategic objectives.Conduct thorough analysis of competitor activity to inform strategic decisions on event planning and recruitment strategies, identifying emerging trends and opportunities for innovation.Lead and manage meetings and working groups, playing a pivotal role in shaping recruitment tactics tailored to local audiences, leveraging insights to enhance outcomes.Efficiently manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of strategic events, fostering strong partnerships to maximise impact and engagement.Oversee the development of the annual events calendar and budget, meticulously allocating resources to optimise event outcomes while adhering to financial parameters and strategic priorities.Skills and Experience:A degree with substantial extension of theories and principles, learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.Demonstrated experience managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures.Demonstrated experience in end-to-end event management, encompassing the planning, coordination, and execution of events across various scales, including small, large, and major events.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align event initiatives with the organisations strategic objectives.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage internal stakeholders across various departments, as well as external partners and vendors, to ensure the successful execution of events.How to applyClosing date: Wednesday 2nd April 2025 at 11:55pmPosition Enquiries: Alex Sims, Director, Sales and Customer Experience, Recruitment and International Operations Email: A.Sims@latrobe.edu.auPlease submit an online application ONLY and include the following documents:Cover Letter and;Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ApplicantsWe welcome and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.La Trobe University is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
