This motivates us every day to collaborate with farmers and food producers to innovate, create and succeed in all the stages needed to realise our mission & vision.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAll listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Work collaboratively with the R&D, Plant & Animal Health and Digital Solutions teams to understand business priorities, present novel approaches & tools for breeding program design and implementation, and architect innovative phenotyping and genomic analysis solutions.Responsible for initiating and leading future quantitative genetics initiatives that align with the Business Strategy.Work collaboratively with our Computer Vision and Digital Team to advance our digital phenotyping technologies.Maintain excellent data chain of custody and contribute to genomics database design, architecture and implementation with the digital team.Lead customer liaison in breeding program use of our core service offerings in Shrimp, swine and plant health & genotyping, liaising with farmers & clientele.Participate in phenotype and data collection at farm from time to time, requiring national and international travel.Work collaboratively with our core genomics service team to design basic (maintain genetic diversity) to complex (genetic and genomic selection) programs, designing sample plans, and ensuring seamless execution and data analysis, providing back to customers farm-friendly analysis reports (e.g., population studies) and mate allocation programs.Required Experience & Skills:Tertiary qualification or formal training in quantitative genetics.Three or more years experience as a quantitative geneticist with in-field farm experience.Knowledge of computer programming and demonstrated data management skills.Experience in statistical analysis and design of data collection methodologies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Expertise in high throughput phenotyping systems &/or workflows for breeding programs (highly desirable).High level demonstrated competence in analysis of large phenotyping data sets.Excellent leadership and data-driven decision-making skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex genetics concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Eagerness to continuously improve business processes through AI and digital enablement.English essential, other languages seen as beneficial.Must have current legal working rights in Australia.Must have current C Class drivers licence in Australia or equivalent.Location: Brisbane, AustraliaRemuneration: Based on qualifications and experienceHow to apply: Please email to dirk.krueger@genics.com one document only containing:Cover letter addressing the key selection criteria in English.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionHealth Care Provider #J-18808-Ljbffr
