Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) conducts the commercial and regulatory functions of the harness racing industry in NSW. Operating under the Harness Racing Act 2009, HRNSW is chartered to operate autonomously of government in managing the strategic and commercial development of harness racing in NSW as a not-for-profit corporate body.An excellent opportunity has now arisen to obtain a full-time Stipendiary Steward position in this exciting industry.Reporting to the Chairman of Stewards, the successful applicant will be required to undertake the following duties:Ensure the administration and regulation of harness racing in New South Wales in accordance with the Australian Harness Racing Rules and relevant legislationManage the supervision and control of harness race meetings and official trials conducted in New South WalesAppear before the Harness Racing Appeals Panel and Racing Appeals Tribunal as a witness or advocate of HRNSWConduct investigations and inquiriesConduct track and stable inspectionsUndertake office administration duties as assignedThe Applicant should have the following skills and knowledge:Experience as a Stipendiary StewardA desire to be involved in the regulation of the harness racing industry in New South WalesA strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressureGood interpersonal skillsGood problem-solving and analytical skillsGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as a part of a teamSound computer literacy skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeThe ability to understand and interpret the rules of racingAbility to maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentialityA current driver''s licenceGiven the nature of the position, you will be required to work nights and/or weekends as well as Public Holidays.
