About the Data Managed Services teamMantel Groups dedicated Managed Services team provides support, engineering and maintenance across cloud, data and software engineer services for modern technology platforms. Our team is expanding our data managed services capability, and looking for a passionate Senior Data Engineer to help build that area. You will work closely with Mantel Groups Data team of 150+ data specialists to deliver, manage, support and continuously improve data solutions using a wide range of technologies, with the goal of transforming the way our clients experience data.About the roleWe are looking for an experienced data engineering specialist to join our growing Managed Services team and help build our data managed services and support offering.Your day to dayCollaborate with clients to understand their data needs and provide technical solutions for data-related challengesTroubleshoot, maintain and enhance existing data platforms, ingestion pipelines, and data infrastructureDesign and implement solutions to improve data pipeline reliability and efficiencyImplement and maintain monitoring and alerting systemsDocument technical solutions, troubleshooting procedures, and best practicesParticipate in on-call rotation to provide emergency support for critical production issuesBe a point of escalation for high severity incidents as they occurLiaise with the managed services team, clients, technology partners and stakeholders to develop backlogs for continuous improvementWhat youll need to be successfulTechnical skillsPrior experience in a hands-on data role - either as a Data Engineer or in related roles such as a Database Administrator (DBA)Experience in production support environments with established SLAsExperience working on a range of data technologies to manage data platforms and pipelinesCloud platform and infrastructure experienceProficiency in implementing, supporting and developing several of the following tools and technologies:Data lakehouse technologies (such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery or Synapse)DevOps / source control / orchestration tools (such as Git, Azure DevOps, dbt or Airflow)Languages (preferably SQL, with python being nice to have)Native cloud servicesPersonal attributesPassion for "learning on the job" and being hands-on across a range of evolving data technologiesExcellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvementStrong attention to detail even while working across different clientsClear communication skills, both technical and non-technicalAbility to take ownership and use good judgement to achieve positive client outcomesWhat you can expect from us:Youll get all the tools you need to hit the ground running including a new phone, laptop & swag.Our My Deal program allows you to tailor your yearly plan, with the support of your Leader, to decide on whats most important to you.
