In this role, you will respond to reports about safety concerns surrounding children or young people who may have been harmed.Being a Child Protection Caseworker can be difficult. Sometimes, you may have to make tough decisions with families to help them overcome hardships in order to be able to care for their children and develop safe and loving homes.Your roleWe are looking for Caseworkers to join our Interstate Transfer Team who can work independently and have the capacity to travel interstate to ensure the children and families we work with receive a high-quality service. Youll be joining a team that ensures that children on NSW OOHC orders who live interstate around Australia receive a holistic and focused service to be well supported.What youll doProvide OOHC casework to children and families who reside interstate whilst their permanency setting is being arranged.Ensure permanency goals for children and young people are achieved, including restoration or Guardianship or progressing interstate transfers.Provide end-to-end support for children and their families while permanency options are explored, whether that be guardianship, restoration or interstate transfer.Understand the importance of meeting the NSW Standards for Children in OOHC.Ensure that records for these children meet the requirements for accreditation standards in OOHC.Ultimately, ensure permanency outcomes for all children, particularly to transfer the orders of children and young people who live interstate to the state or territory they reside in.Minimum RequirementsBachelor Degree or higher in Social Work, Social Science or Welfare or a related degree (Other related degrees are considered if you can demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families).Demonstrated experience working in Out of Home Care or Child Protection.Based in Sydney with flexibility and understanding that you will be travelling interstate as required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships.A valid drivers licence.A valid Working with Children Check clearance number.BenefitsRewarding salary from $87,315 pa to $113,562 pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading.Travel and meal allowances.Opportunities to work flexibly.17 weeks of industry-leading training in the Caseworker Development Program.Customized career development and support for your personal and professional growth.Generous leave entitlements including flex leave.Positive culture for wellness including Fitness Passport, tailored health app and mental health support.Are you ready to join us?A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
