They are building a cutting edge cloud-based solution and require a hands-on CTO to join their team helping to shape the future product road-map. They require someone who can drive technical leadership, architecture, and product strategy, while still being involved in coding, system design, and cloud infrastructure.This position will fit a technology leader who thrives in both strategic decision-making and hands-on development.ORAn experienced lead software engineer looking to take the next step and drive the product roadmap.Responsibilities:Lead the technology strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation.Stay hands-on with development (C#.NET, Python, cloud architecture) while mentoring a small software team.Take ownership of Product Management to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient solutions.Oversee cloud strategy (Azure, but cloud-agnostic approach) to optimise infrastructure, cost, and performance.Drive best practices in software development, DevOps, and security.Act as a key decision-maker in architecture, tech stack evolution, and product roadmap execution.Skills & Experience:Strong hands-on expertise in C#.NET and Python, with experience in cloud-based architectures.Proven ability to design, develop, and scale distributed systems.Experience leading engineering teams while remaining hands-on with coding and architecture.Deep knowledge of Azure (or multi-cloud strategies).Strong product management mindset, with a track record of delivering customer-focused products.Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud security best practices.Preferred/Beneficial Experience:Background in scientific or Geospatial, Data Engineering, or high-availability SaaS applications.Experience in startups or scaling tech companies.Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology with commercial goals.This opportunity offers the chance to own the technology strategy from a hands-on perspective in an exciting start-up in the climate and tech for good space!This is the chance to innovate; you will be working in a team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers, the position will initially be office-based full-time in Sydney.Please apply for immediate consideration.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation Technology and OtherIndustriesSoftware Development, Information Services, and Climate Data and Analytics #J-18808-Ljbffr
