The Payroll Officer will be responsible for running end to end weekly/fortnightly/monthly Australian and NZ payrolls. This is a Permanent full Time role with the scope to grow for the right candidate.Where is the position located? We are open to location at either of our offices in Melbourne CBD or Keysborough, Melbourne.What will your typical day look like:As part of a team of 4, assist Payroll Manager in running end to end Australian payroll for all companies and multiple cycles including NZ payroll;Attending to basic changes to employee Masterfile data and payroll files;Assisting in documentation of all key payroll related procedures with periodic reviews to ensure regulatory requirements are maintained;Assist with coordination of payment of PAYG, superannuation and workers compensation;Calculation of leave and termination payments; Interpreting NES, Awards and Enterprise Agreements;Preparing payroll payments to third party vendors, including superannuation and Child Support;Assist in preparing reports, monthly reconciliation and general ledger related activities;Responding to staff enquiries and resolving payroll issues in a timely manner;Timely reporting of payroll data to various stakeholders;Run the payroll process in the absence of the Payroll Manager during periods of leave;Commitment to Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements;Attend to any ad-hoc payroll matters as directed by the Payroll Manager.What you bring:Minimum 5 years experience as a Payroll Officer in a medium sized organization (multiple cycles and ABNs desirable);Minimum 3 years experience using Sage Micropay (Meridian) preferred but not essential;Certificate IV in Payroll or similar is required;Strong understanding of legislation, taxation and superannuation;Exposure and experience in timekeeping systems;Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills;Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and deliver to tight deadlines;Demonstrated ability to provide customer service excellence; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Strong MS Excel skills; and Assertive & confident.We are a 2025 Circle Back Initiative Employer we commit to respond to every applicant.Who are we?Wabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail as well as the mining, marine, and industrial markets.
