As we embark on our next stage, join us to make a difference.We''re here to Stride.About headspace:Stride is the lead agency for headspace Woolloongabba and Nundah. headspace is Australias National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.headspace can help young people with mental health and wellbeing, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.On Offer:Predominantly based at headspace Woolloongabba, with time spent at headspace Nundah, QLDFull-time, permanent opportunityPaying on SCHADS Level 3 plus SuperSalary Packaging options (up to $15,899 tax free!)Meals and entertainment allowance of up to $2,650!Leave loading at 17.5%Stride Rewards access to discounts from 100s of retailers (fashion, food and fitness)One paid wellbeing leave day per yearPurchase up to 5 additional leave days in a 12-month periodPaid parental leave supportSupportive team environmentExcellent training and career developmentRole Overview:The Community Engagement Coordinator seeks opportunities to reach out to young people and the communities that support them, to provide health education, raise mental health literacy and community awareness and link people to appropriate services.You will develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of community events, and health and education programs designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of challenges faced by young people, in order to increase early identification and help them to get early access to appropriate services.You will work closely with our clinical team, and our youth reference group, to understand the services that headspace provides, to advocate our services to both young people and the wider community.Requirements:Minimum tertiary degree in education, community development, youth work, mental health or another relevant discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through education, training and/or experienceExperience working with youth, with experience working in a similar role highly advantageousExperience in planning, developing and delivering of high-quality education, training, and community awareness programs and activitiesDemonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholdersProven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a teamExcellent organisation and time management skillsProficiency with IT, including social media applications (e.g. Instagram and other Meta platforms) and website maintenanceExcellent verbal and written communication and story-telling skillsAbility to identify potential funding sources and prepare the appropriate grant submissionsMust be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue CardMust hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearanceCurrent Drivers LicenseStride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
