Lecturer and Course Coordinator Positions in Engineering Management - MelbourneVictorian Institute of Technology (VIT), an established dual-sector provider of higher education and vocational education, invites expressions of interest for casual lecturer and course coordinator positions in the discipline of Engineering Management.These roles report directly to the Executive Dean or Dean of Business Studies and are ideal for candidates who are passionate about teaching and mentoring international students in higher education.Employment Type: Full time/Part time/CasualCampus: MelbourneKey Teaching Areas:Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the following areas within the context of engineering management:Digital economy and economic principlesSystems thinking and problem-solving methodologiesLeadership in engineering and technological innovationFinancial management for engineering and technology professionalsStrategic planning, innovation, and entrepreneurshipProduct and project managementSales, marketing, and cultural transformation in organisationsData analytics and decision-making techniquesLegal frameworks and contract management for engineersCybersecurity management and applicationsStart-up development and venture financingSustainable engineering practices and ethical decision-makingEmerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and quantum applicationsPerson Specifications:PhD in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.Recent scholarly activity and research output in a relevant field.At least three years of Higher Education teaching experience in Australia.Experience in delivering units via digital platforms in Higher Education.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in student-facing interactions.Full working rights in Australia.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct face-to-face and online teaching in the engineering management discipline as assigned.Prepare and deliver tutorials, labs, and quality learning materials suitable for a multi-modal learning environment.Assess and mark examinations, projects, and other student work.Provide academic and pastoral support to students.Manage course administration, including student progress, academic records, and examinations.Participate in continuous improvement processes and institutional initiatives.Collaborate with peers to support VITs mission and participate in committee activities as required.Engage in professional development and maintain on-campus hours as rostered.Travel:Inter-campus travel at short notice may be required.Your application must include:A concise cover letter addressing the position requirements.A full curriculum vitae with the following:Full name, address, mobile/telephone numbers, and email address.Employment history, including the current position and notice required.Details of education, professional qualifications, and training.Relevant professional, consulting, or industry experience (if applicable).Research interests and a list of publications.Information on professional or community service roles (if any).A list of units previously taught at other institutions.Apply by: Ongoing until positions are filled.
