The Painter will be responsible for applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to protect, maintain, and enhance the surfaces of buildings and structures.The annual salary is $73,450 plus superannuation.Duties and Responsibilities:Measure surfaces or check job plans to determine the materials needed and select matching colours.Remove old paint by washing, scraping, sanding, or using heat tools and chemicals, then smooth surfaces before applying new finishes.Prepare surfaces by placing drop sheets, removing fixtures, and ensuring a clean workspace for high-quality painting.Fix woodwork, seal cracks and holes, and clean surfaces to remove dust and grease before painting.Apply primers, sealers, and decorative coatings like paint or varnish to buildings, furniture, and other surfaces.Use brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to apply paint and other finishes.Keep tools, paint mixing stations, and work areas clean and organised.Set up and secure scaffolding, ladders, and planks for safe work at heights.Handle, store, and dispose of paints, stains, and hazardous materials safely.Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines and regulations.Qualifications and Requirements:Must hold a Certificate III in Painting and Trades Worker.Should have up to three (3) years of experience in a similar role.Should be able to work independently and as part of a team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
