Prospective applicants must have good prior experience of working commercially as a chef. Duties include. Monitor the kitchen staff during pre-cooking preparations. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of food preparation, food presentation. Prepare specialized food items from the caf menu Preparing food items keeping in mind the nutrition value of the items included. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients as per cafs food recipes or personal judgment. Planning menus & recipes. Estimating food and Labor costs and ordering food supplies. Plan staff rosters. Discussing food preparation issues with Manager and other kitchen staff. Time to time, train junior staff. Managing the organization of all stock and stock control for the venue Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met. Upholding food safety and hygiene standards Obey Occupational Health and Safety and Food Hygiene procedures. Applicants with formal qualifications (AQF Certificate IV in commercial cookery & Diploma of Hospitality) and with 1 - 2 years of practical experience working as a CHEF will be prioritised.
