With a network that powers 95% of NSW and parts of Southern Queensland, we ensure homes, hospitals, schools, businesses, and services stay connected.We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a key business initiative with the objective of driving the deployment of high voltage batteries by 3rd parties on Essential Energy land adjacent to our zone substations.This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract, our preference is for the role to be based in Port Macquarie with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment.About The RoleAs the Project Manager you are accountable for the delivery of the HV batteries at Essential Energy zone substations initiative through the coordination of all elements of the initiative, aiming for timely completion within budget and to high standards.Your Role Will Be ToDevelop and regularly update detailed plans outlining all associated activities (tasks, schedules, resources and deliverables) required for the successful delivery of the initiative.Ensure clear coordination and communication between the project team and different internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables are delivered on time and to budget including resolving any obstacles encountered.Provide regular updates on delivery against the plan (progress, financials, risks, & issues) to key project stakeholders.Manage regular project meetings (stand-ups, weekly team sessions and/or monthly stakeholder updates).Ensure any associated risks and issues are effectively managed, and develop mitigation plans where required to ensure delivery remains on track.About YouTo be successful you will have demonstrated project management experience in managing and delivering complex projects for large scale businesses. In addition, you will:Bring extensive software proficiency and be able to develop overarching Project Plans, Gantt Charts and monitor performance to ensure key milestones are met.Have strong stakeholder management skills and verbal and written communication skills to convey project objectives, updates, and feedback to all stakeholders.Have experience operating in a dynamic environment and be able to respond flexibly to project shifts and unforeseen challenges.Use critical thinking to analyse problems, devise solutions, and apply them effectively to minimise the impact on project progress and outcomes.Have exceptional organisational abilities that allow you to balance multiple tasks and priorities, skilfully mapping out schedules, allocating resources, and monitoring project timelines to guide the initiative toward success.Required Qualifications / ExperienceBachelor of Project Management or relevant qualifications and experience.Knowledge and understanding of project management processes and methodologies.Experience in the development, management and implementation of performance reporting processes and improved business processes.Demonstrated ability to assess risks and analyse issues with a view to proposing solutions to achieve cost effective business outcomes.Strong stakeholder management skills.Previous experience and/or knowledge of the delivery of electrical or renewable energy infrastructure is desirable.Why Essential EnergyWe offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and 16% superannuation.
