Founded in 1925, Volkert is currently celebrating a century of serving our employees, clients, partners, and communities on innovative and impactful infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast and beyond.We are currently searching for an experienced Airport Civil Engineering Practice Lead to support our Southeast Region, located in Florida.What youll be doing:Development of business relationships and securing of work on all types of airportsDevelopment of strategy and oversight of implementation on a wide range of airport projects to include federal and state-funded airport improvement programs, as well as locally funded projects at both public and private use airportsDevelopment of contract specifications and bid estimatesCoordination of engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet objectivesCooperation with other Volkert disciplines to cross-sell aviation-related services to clients throughout the Southeast Regions footprintWhat you need to have:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer with the Florida Board of Professional Engineers or ability to obtain registration within 3 monthsDesign experience on FAA and State DOT aviation projects within an assigned client baseExperience in business developmentAbility to hire, manage, and motivate staffProven existing relationships with airports in FloridaManagement experience with all aspects of a project: grant facilitation, design, bidding, construction administration, and close out to meet project goals on time and on budgetA track record of compliance with the objectives of individual airport master plans, federal grant assurance requirements, FAA and state design standards, and project scopes of workKnowledge of and experience in the application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markingsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProficient knowledge of general office equipment, MS Office, Faarfield, etc.Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
