This is an exciting opportunity for a technical leader in their field, who is looking to join a growing team in Melbourne, with support from a large National team. We collaborate closely with our 23 in-house technical discipline teams to deliver comprehensive environmental services to clients across various sectors.We are seeking an experienced environmental planner who can demonstrate a track record in working closely with clients to navigate planning and environmental approval frameworks through a commercial lens. You may also have experience in navigating the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. You will enjoy undertaking project work whilst mentoring team members and developing client relationships throughout the region.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking in conjunction with leaders across Melbourne and our 23 APAC Offices this role will see you involved in:Managing the delivery of planning and environmental authorisations, including Planning Permit Applications, Work Plan Applications, EPA and/or water licences and EPBC Referrals.Delivering planning analysis and research via a commercially astute lens to confidently deliver exceptional results.Leading and working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across various sectors.Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members, particularly across other technical disciplines.Managing several projects at any one time without direct supervision.Working closely with the team lead to drive team and company growth.Conducting thorough technical reviews and mentoring/development of junior staff.Liaising with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies.Using your expertise to work across multi-disciplinary projects within a consulting environment.Business development and high-level client relationship management.Travelling within Victoria to undertake site familiarisation work-overs and regulator meetings.ExperienceNot only will you bring a great attitude and enthusiastic approach to your work, you will also have:A degree in Town Planning/Environmental Science or equivalent.10+ years working experience within a consulting business with direct experience in environmental planning, property or environmental management.A proven record in delivering client outcomes; experience in the extractives and construction materials sector will also be highly regarded.Demonstrated experience directing and managing multidisciplinary projects and utilising your effective delegation skills.A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables while maintaining excellent client service.Strong attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in your workplace and implement new ideas.Our BenefitsWe are most proud of our diverse, friendly and expert team, who work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
