With over 700 dedicated professionals across Brisbane and regional offices, we work tirelessly to ensure that Queensland''s communities, businesses, and water resources thrive.The RoleOperating from within the Water Planning Murray Darling Basin Team in South Region, you will be a key member of a dynamic and supportive team delivering Murray Darling Basin Plan 2012 implementation. This role will work closely with the team, functional areas within the department, internal and external stakeholders, delivery partners, and parties to funding agreements to ensure expectations and deliverables are met. This includes developing terms of references, keeping track of projects and funding under programs, contract management, reporting, developing briefing materials and secretariat support for a steering committee.Key Accountabilities:Apply to a high level of competency a wide range of project, contract and procurement capabilities, to achieve outcomes for and protect the interests of the department, while maintaining expectations and relationships with stakeholders.Contribute to the ongoing development of, program monitoring, auditing, evaluation and reporting to support and demonstrate effective and efficient program governance and appropriate project outcomes.Research and prepare reports, terms of reference, briefing notes, policy papers and correspondence for consideration by water planning Murray-Darling Basin team.Maintain up-to-date advice knowledge of the Standards, Directives, Policies and Procedures, develop operating principles and practices for the business unit to comply, interpret and provide advice on departmental policy that relate to the responsibilities of the position.Ensure a commitment to customer service and quality service delivery by developing and delivering project plans that meet agreed performance criteria.Promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge and supporting common expectations to develop a sense of collaboration amongst staff.About YouThere are no mandatory qualifications, but it would be advantageous for you to have experience in natural resource management, contract administration, project management and evaluation.Excellent communication skills to maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholder groups to ensure the coordinated development of clear, timely and accurate advice.Travel away from the centre, including overnight, regional travel and site visits may be required.The BenefitsHighly valued State government benefits.Achieve work life balance with hybrid work arrangements.Make an impact for regional Queensland sustainable water resource management.We believe our workforce should represent the community we serve.
