About the roleWorking as part of a large on-roads operations unit, our Safety and Compliance Officers are at the frontline in keeping our roads safe by monitoring heavy vehicles, working with industry and applying the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).Your role will include:Providing advice, education and guidance in the awareness of road safety for heavy vehicles in the community.Undertaking compliance and enforcement activities including conducting heavy vehicle inspections, and checking the compliance of heavy vehicles, drivers and operators in line with the requirements of the HVNL.Work as part of a team to ensure we deliver activities in accordance with relevant road transport laws, regulations and process.In NSW, our Safety and Compliance officers are located across the state.Within the North sector, you will primarily engage in Heavy Vehicle Safety Scheme (HVSS), Heavy Vehicle Inspection Station (HVIS) and On Road Enforcement (ORE) tasks. Flexibility with working hours is required, as HVSS shifts can operate around the clock (24 hours). Travel may be required on occasion, including week-long stays.
