Find out more about our values, benefits, and employee experience by watching this video!About the RoleWe''re currently seeking applications for the permanent part-time (30 hours per week) role of Childrens Contact Service (CCS) Practitioner located at our Cairns venue.This position assists with the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the child/ren.Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant; however, please note that the position holder will be required to work alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday 8.30 am to 5 pm) and evenings (10 am to 6 pm), with some flexibility, to meet the CCS program requirements. Weekend work attracts generous penalty rates.Tasks for this role include:Facilitating contact arrangements.Supporting children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits.Providing a safe and secure environment for the children.Other tasks:Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution, and other relevant frameworks.Undertake assessment and intake processes, including parent interviews, case planning, and reviews.Organise safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child interaction.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will:Have a Bachelors degree in the social or behavioural sciences, preferably with a focus on child development.Have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse, and/or neglect.Have experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.Have knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or childrens contact issues.Be able to work on weekends and evening shifts.Possess, or be willing to obtain, a First Aid/CPR Certificate.What We Can Offer YouThe salary being offered is between $84,000.00 to $96,000.00 per annum pro rata for part-time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
