Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our team at a leading residential aged care facility located on the Sunshine Coast. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the facility by performing general maintenance tasks and repairs. You will play a key part in enhancing the comfort and quality of life for our residents, contributing to a well-maintained and welcoming environment.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, potential hazards, and areas requiring repairs.Perform routine and emergency repairs to building infrastructure, equipment, and fixtures, including plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.Maintain and service facility equipment, such as air conditioning, heating, and lighting systems.Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety and health regulations, providing a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and address issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to residents.Support the implementation of planned preventive maintenance schedules.Liaise with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repair work.Assist with the upkeep of external grounds, including landscaping, cleaning, and ensuring safe walkways and pathways.Report any safety hazards or concerns to senior management and work collaboratively to resolve them.Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience in general maintenance or a similar role, ideally in a healthcare, aged care, or residential setting.Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and respond to maintenance emergencies.High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently as well as within a team.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with residents, families, and team members effectively.A proactive approach to work and a strong sense of responsibility.A current driver''s license is essential.A National Police Check may be required.Why Join Us?Be part of a supportive and caring team that values the wellbeing of residents and staff.Work in a modern, well-equipped facility in a beautiful location on the Sunshine Coast.Ongoing professional development opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package.If you are an experienced maintenance professional who is passionate about ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents, we encourage you to apply and be part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of the elderly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
