Job Description

With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our Engineering and Projects team to work on various multidiscipline, turnkey projects. The primary focus for the Design Manager will be our major projects, which are circa $30M-$100M. The role presents a great opportunity to complement our current team and gain exposure to a wide range of industries which include:General ConstructionStructural, Mechanical, Piping (SMP)WaterMiningOil and GasMarineFood and BeverageReporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibility will be providing technical leadership on our design and construct projects, providing technical support on tender submissions, development and implementation of design management plans, and providing technical assistance in the execution of projects.Responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:Technical Leadership to the Engineering and Projects Customer Stream.Design Management Plan development and implementation.Oversight of consultant engagement and coordination and management of design services.Practical application of technical skills, delivering innovative construction solutions.Document and change control processes and procedures.Design workshop participation and technical leadership.Coach, support, motivate and develop a positive safety culture across the business in line with Safety Certainty 2.0 principles.About youTo be successful in the role, you will need:Tertiary qualification or advanced education in Engineering.Demonstrated years of experience as a Design Manager.Problem-solving and innovation skills.Construction White Card and Current drivers license.Ability to work autonomously and as a team player.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety and Environmental standards.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications.Experience in ERP software like Procore and Pronto or similar programs would be advantageous.Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment.Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance.Ability to travel based on project requirements.
