Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our fast-growing East Coast team and clients, on a site in Rutherford, NSW. This position will be a long-term casual contract for an initial 6-month duration, with potential to extend. Hours worked will be Monday to Friday.The role is ideal for a highly experienced project manager with a background in process engineering, plant modifications, and commissioning of industrial facilities. The successful candidate will oversee the design and execution planning phases to Final Investment Decision (FID), followed by implementation, commissioning, and handover of a new SOx scrubbing system.Category 5 Labour Management is an Australian owned success story, a leading provider of full-service labour management solutions, supporting the local communities in which we operate and the people within them.Duties Include:Lead the project through design and execution planning phases to Final Investment Decision (FID)Oversee implementation, commissioning, and successful handover of the new scrubbing system to operationsCollaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project executionManage project scope, budget, schedules, and risk assessments to achieve key milestonesEnsure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycleEngage with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and leadershipDrive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance and operational efficiencyPrepare and present progress reports and project documentation to senior management.Experience & QualificationsDegree in Chemical Engineering or similar (Essential)Extensive experience in project management, particularly in design, execution, commissioning, and handover of industrial process plantsBackground in waste treatment, oil refining, or chemical processing industries is highly regardedStrong understanding of SOx scrubbing systems, emissions control, and process optimisationProven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, budgets, and project timelinesStrong stakeholder management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teamsExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilitiesCommitment to safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability best practices.With our commitment to achieving a diverse workforce, we strongly encourage Female, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. #J-18808-Ljbffr
