This is a genuine qualification under Section 25 and 26 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.Your part in our UnitingCare teamOur Men''s Facilitator and Counsellors play a pivotal role within the MCC and MSC programs, operating within a multi-disciplinary team. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate behaviour change programs and provide intake and psycho-education services to individuals who identify as perpetrating domestic and family violence.A Facilitator/Counsellor in behaviour change programs works to guide individuals, particularly men who perpetrate domestic violence, through a structured psycho-education process of self-examination and accountability.The Facilitator/Counsellor uses evidence-based techniques to challenge harmful beliefs and behaviours, promote empathy and responsibility, and support clients in making sustainable, positive changes in their lives.Hours of work will be 8:24 AM-4:30 PM two days per week and 11:54 AM - 8:00 PM one day per weekThis role involves creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore the underlying causes of their behaviour, understand the impact of their actions, and develop healthier ways of relating to others.Key Responsibilities include:Facilitate behaviour and sustaining change programs for men who perpetrate domestic violence, promoting accountability and positive changeProvide individual intake/review and group sessions to clients, utilising evidence-based practices.Conduct assessments of clients, developing progress notes and successImplement safety planning for clients and their families, ensuring a focus on risk management and the cessation of violenceWork collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to case planning and review processes Risk and safety Meetings (RAS) and working alongside Women Advocate (MCC) workersMaintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to organisational policies and legal requirementsParticipate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in domestic and family violence and counselling practicesUphold the values and principles of UnitingCare, promoting a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusionWhat makes a difference for us?Minimum Bachelor degree in Social Science, Counselling, Psychology, or Social WorkA Current Driver''s LicenseBlue Card (working with children check)Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence, with a strong understanding of the dynamics and impactsProven fundamentals in counselling practice, with a high degree of experience in client workEpistemological awareness and ability to work within individual frameworksExpertise in safety planning and risk assessmentExcellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skillsAbility to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary teamCommitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practiceSpecialist knowledge relevant to family and domestic violence including knowledge of intervention models appropriate to working with men who use DFV with a strong understanding of the dynamics and impactsWed love you to be part of our UnitingCare familyOur FaDS team are passionate about their work with parents to ensure children remain safe in the home and parents have the skills, resilience and capability to effectively parent and meet their childrens developmental, educational, health and well-being needs.
