Our mission is to help more people to hear.The OpportunityDue to growth in the Global Scientific Communications team, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced writer to join the team in the position of Scientific Communications Writer. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Scientific Communications, the Scientific Communications Writer will be a key producer of scientific content targeted at healthcare professionals, institutions, internal stakeholders, and external customers.Your responsibilities include:Conducting literature reviews.Developing evidence-based communication for Cochlear Sponsored Studies.Writing, reviewing, and submitting scientific manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.Developing abstracts, posters, and presentations, targeting professional and non-professional audiences.Creating systematic publication alerts to identify new literature.Performing systematic and or non-systematic literature reviews and summaries.Preparing and delivering content for white papers and or slide decks on thematic reviews for internal and external audiences.Driving awareness of Scientific Communication processes across Clinical and non-clinical functions across Cochlear.About You.As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:Prior experience and commercial awareness in pharma/medical device or health-related industry is a must.Prior experience producing academic publications, in a medical, health-related, or scientific discipline.A thorough understanding of best-practice guidelines for publishing company-sponsored scientific communications, such as manuscripts, meeting presentations, posters, and abstracts, plain-language summaries (e.g., ICMJE recommendations, Good Publication Practice (GPP)-4 guidelines).Track record of delivering written scientific communications, including publications, White Papers, abstracts, and podium presentations involving internal and external stakeholders.Familiarity with clinical trial design and statistics and their application for interpretation and presentation of clinical data.Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and cross-geographically to deliver goals within agreed timeframes.Good project management skills, including establishing project timelines and milestones.Experience in the audiological industry (preferred).Familiarity with applicable Clinical Research Regulations (ISO13485, ISO14155, ISO9001, FDA 21CFR820 etc.) (preferred).Experience in the design and use of health economics and research outcomes for the purposes of promoting medical products (preferred).Ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in lay language.Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Cochlears mission is to help people hear and be heard.
