See more about the role below, including the responsibilities and skills we are looking for.Ranger - Fixed term contract (6 Months)Environment and PlanningCrookwell, AustraliaReference: 6727862Join our Team todayAre you looking for a short-term contract, passionate about your community''s health and safety and complying with regulatory and legislative requirements?Upper Lachlan Shire Council is looking for a dedicated Ranger to be a vital part of our Environment and Planning Group. In this hands-on role, you''ll play a key role in maintaining Council''s legislation and regulation compliance across the shire.What You''ll Do:Implement and administer the provisions of relevant legislation and regulation to ensure Council complies with its responsibilities.Undertake patrols and inspections with regards to both livestock and companion animals, including but not limited to breaches of legislation, dog attacks, barking dogs, seizure of animals and microchipping.Undertake patrols and regulate controlled lands and property to ensure they are free from abandoned vehicles, waste dumping, unauthorised structures and other obstructions.Operate and maintain Council''s pound and surrounding grounds ensuring animals are managed humanely and in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.Investigate allegations or incidents and resolve complaints promptly and fairly.Issue penalty infringement notices, Notices of Proposed Orders and Orders for non-compliance matters.Undertake research and prepare reports and plans in a timely manner.Implement rural and urban addressing as required.What You''ll Bring:A Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or a related discipline with contemporary experience in a similar role.Knowledge and demonstrated experience in working with and managing domestic animals and livestock, illegal waste, unauthorised structures and parking control.Great communication and interpersonal skills.Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safety and environmental standards.What''s on Offer:Fixed term Six month contractGrade 10 Min $34.54 - 39.08 per hour plus super, depending on skills, experience and qualifications. 9 day fortnight with RDO.Why Join Us?Opportunity for skill development.Contribute to the day-to-day operations that directly enhance our community''s environment and quality of life.Be part of a supportive team that values hard work, respect, and dedication.Shire-wide work locations.Ready to make a difference in your community?
