To continue to set the standard in WA Local Government for innovative services and programs, we are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic employees who will be committed to making a positive contribution to the City and its community.Community Waste Educator CasualSalary: $37.94 per hour (inclusive of 20% casual loading)Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)Casual position (7:00am start time, various hours available Monday to Friday)68-week program (week commencing 17th February 2025)Ref No: 25-003We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Waste Educator and assist with the implementation of the Citys bin tagging program. In this casual role, you will be responsible for conducting visual audits of kerbside bins (general waste, recycling, and garden organics) across designated areas within the City of Joondalup. Your duties will include:Inspecting bins for contamination levels and recording findings.Affixing performance tags to bins.Engaging with community members to explain the bin tagging process and educate on proper waste sorting practices.Promoting recycling behaviour change with empathy and negotiation skills.Following basic work health, safety, and risk management procedures.Basic knowledge of recycling and safety practices is required, but training will be provided. A current WA C Class Drivers License and access to a car are essential.
