East Coast Apprenticeships is offering an Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic Apprenticeship that will set you on the path to success. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, ensuring you gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel whilst you earn your Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology.Duties may include but are not limited to:Diagnose and repair problems on engines for outdoor power equipment, including lawn mowers, whipper snippers, chain saws, generators, and compressors.Repair or replace defective parts such as water pumps, gears, pistons, and carburetors.Test and inspect engines to determine malfunctions, locate broken or missing parts, and verify repairs using diagnostic materials.Dismantle engines using hand tools and examine parts for defects.Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, oiling parts, honing cylinders, and tuning ignition systems.Reassemble engines after repair or maintenance work has been completed.Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:Be able to demonstrate strong mathematical ability.Have a strong attention to detail.Highly motivated with effective learning and communication skills and a positive attitude.Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.Have a basic understanding of hand power tool operations.Have fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.Be well presented, enthusiastic, reliable, and punctual.Reliable transport to work, car and license preferred.As an apprentice with ECA, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:Award wages (paid fortnightly) + Super + Holiday Leave Loading + Allowances.Paid TAFE block periods + Work shirts provided + Safety Equipment.Long-term career prospects for the right candidate.A dedicated Field Officer assigned for full mentoring and support during your apprenticeship, as well as a full team of staff overseeing your apprenticeship, ensuring you only need to focus on your work and college.Genuine support for your personal wellbeing, including access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).A large network of Host Employers looking to host enthusiastic apprentices and help them become trade qualified.Modern Award rates apply.Please note, to be eligible you must be an Australian citizen, Permanent resident, or hold a valid visa that allows you to work and undertake training in Australia.At East Coast Apprenticeships, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
