The Director Financial Management and Reporting also draws on exemplary knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, people management, governance, compliance and technical expertise to guide and facilitate improvements in DEECA''s financial management.The Director Financial Management and Reporting is a direct report to the Executive Director: Finance, Infrastructure and Procurement Services and is accountable for developing a high performing function that provides financial services to the Department''s groups with a strong focus on business insights, high quality advice, service excellence, developing capability and efficiency. The Director Financial Management and Reporting will work collaboratively with the Finance leadership team to develop and implement strategies that form integrated finance and corporate services that support DEECA''s wider business objectives.The role will need to facilitate and lead relationships with key stakeholders at senior levels across DEECA, other departments and the Victorian Auditor-General''s Office (VAGO). The Director Financial Management and Reporting will engage and influence stakeholders to negotiate outcomes, enlist cooperation and resolve conflict, while maintaining collaborative relationships.The Director Financial Management and Reporting will lead the continuous improvement of financial services to DEECA''s groups and statutory reporting, partnering across the Finance division to innovate. The role will also develop the strategic direction of the Financial Management and Reporting branch, ensuring integration with and support for higher strategic goals within the Finance division, Corporate Services group and across DEECA.About you:To be successful in the role, you will have:A relevant tertiary degree/qualification in accounting and/or finance including CPA/CA status is mandatory.Relevant extensive senior-level experience in a position managing groups of similar functional and complexity in either the private or public sectors would be well regarded.An understanding of government budget principles, processes and associated Victorian legislation, including its impact on resourcing decisions, would be well regarded.About the BranchThe Financial Management and Reporting branch is a key central point of financial services to DEECA''s groups, providing reporting, forecasting, analytical, statutory reporting and financial management and accounting advisory services. The branch delivers these services through its strong working partnerships to inform group executive leadership teams to consider strategic, operational and financial decision making.The branch drives financial capability uplift and customer satisfaction by leveraging shared resources, consistent methodologies and tools to provide financial services.This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 5 years.
