As our Senior Communications Advisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering community and stakeholder engagement activities for the Projects team.Your contributions will build stronger connections and improve how our projects are viewed, while minimising disruptions to our passengers.You will proactively identify opportunities to engage with the community and key stakeholders, ensuring they understand the purpose and benefits of our projects.About the RoleWe are seeking a seasoned professional with demonstrated expertise in both written communication and stakeholder engagement. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience to manage relationships and ensure effective communication throughout our Interface and self-performed projects.Key responsibilities:Manage stakeholder relationships and disseminate project updates.Develop and implement communication plans.Produce readiness and wayfinding plans for project disruptions.Contribute to the Project Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.Coordinate project disruption communications and media content.Facilitate crisis communications during work delays, disruptions, or incidents.Collaborate with internal teams to promote project milestones.Develop communication materials and coordinate community opportunities, including planning and utilising community forums, pop-ups, or events to promote project awareness.Assist with corporate reporting and provide regular updates.Facilitate proactive relationships with project management teams, communities, and key stakeholders.Provide input for government relations and media enquiries.Attend project sites to monitor progress and meet with stakeholders.Manage community issues, including public enquiries, feedback, and complaints.In your first month in the role, you will have the opportunity to write communications and plans, make site visits, speak to local landowners, work with the customer experience team, and host and present meetings. You are a dynamic professional who excels in communication and stakeholder engagement, and we value you for your proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.Ideally, you meet most or all of the following key selection criteria:Significant experience in multi-format communications, writing, public relations, journalism, or publishing.Strong writing and editorial skills with attention to detail.Extensive experience with digital communications and emerging technologies.Excellent planning and time management skills.Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver timely and accurate communications to a wide stakeholder group.Ability to effectively respond to queries, identify needs, communicate services, and resolve issues.Valid Victorian Driver Licence is essential.AttributesSolutions-focused with workplace maturity and the ability to think laterally.Autonomous and proactive, with a self-starter attitude.Comfortable engaging with members of the public and civil society including landowners and local councils.While tertiary qualifications are not required, credentials in Communications, Professional Writing, or Business will be greatly valued.Rail experience is ideal.
