Job Description

The Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) is seeking an experienced Early Intervention Family Worker to join our Family Services team under the CALD Early Intervention and Perinatal Program. This role focuses on delivering culturally responsive programs and early intervention services to children and families from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds across the Parramatta and Cumberland Local Government Areas (LGAs).Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver early intervention services and programs to CALD children and families.Promote CMRC programs within the community and to key stakeholders.Build and maintain strong partnerships with external service providers.Conduct individual, group, and community needs assessments to inform service delivery.Manage internal and external referrals for clients to appropriate services.Provide information, support, and advocacy to families in individual and group settings.Assist families in identifying and addressing barriers to accessing mainstream and settlement services.Assist in delivering parenting programs and community information sessions as per the work plan.Conduct home visits for new clients, supported playgroups, and parenting groups as required.Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the CDS system.Provide regular updates to the Family Services Manager on program activities and client outcomes.Support a safe and positive work environment, promoting a healthy work-life balance.Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the Family Services Manager and CMRC CEO.Employment Status: Part time 14 hours per weekSalary: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services, Grade 3 pay point 1 (salary packaging available)Location: Parramatta Head Office level 4, 1 Horwood Place, ParramattaSELECTION CRITERIA:Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood, Community Services, or a related field.Minimum 2-year experience working with children and CALD families.Understanding of NSW child protection legislation and child development stages.Experience working in partnership with parents and service providers to promote positive parenting strategies and support families.Ability to collaborate with government and non-government agencies to address service gaps for CALD families.Strong ability to follow policies and procedures in a service delivery setting.A positive attitude and ability to work both independently and within a diverse team.Excellent communication and written skills to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and partners.Ability to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and complete data entry accurately and on time.A current and clear Working with Children Check (WWCC) for employment.A valid National Police Check (obtained within the last six months).How to apply:Written applications for the position should include:A resumeA cover letter addressing the selection criteria (applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered)The successful candidate must provide a current National Police Clearance (obtained within last 6 months) and a Working with Children Check (for employment) in order to be employed in this role.Applications close: COB Friday 28th February 2025For any enquiries, please contact Diana Jacob (Family Services Manager) on 02 9687 9901; 0431 717 751 or via email: diana.jacob@cmrc.com.auSubmit applications to: cmrc_admin@cmrc.com.auCMRC adheres to the principles and practices of equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety. #J-18808-Ljbffr
