Add expected salary to your profile for insightsEmployment type: Full time PermanentHours per week: 38Remuneration: Band 7 salary from $112,427.64 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDOLocation: Werribee basedAbout the roleReporting to the Team Leader Building Permits & Inspections you will drive business success through effective and timely checking of Building Permits, building relationships with clients, marketing the business and providing expert advice and guidance to clients and the community.You will provide accurate technical advice to rate payers and builders on building matters and also undertake mandatory building inspections when required.What your day will look likeEnsure that Councils statutory obligations are metExamine plans, specifications and documents lodged by applicants for various building permitsPrepare appropriate responses as required to process and issue permits, consents and other applications.Make sure that essential service inspections are carried out and report preparedPrepare and issue Building Notices and OrdersProvide emergency response for inspection of damaged buildingsContribute to the development, mentoring and support of staffWhat you will bringBachelors degree (or equivalent) in Building SurveyingA proficient understanding of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Australian StandardsKnowledge of construction methodology and terminologyRegistration as a Building Surveyor Limited required (Unlimited desirable) with the Victorian Building AuthorityRegistration as a Building Inspector (Unlimited) with the Victorian Building AuthorityExperience in the examination and approval of applications of building permits for all classes of buildings electronically.If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.How to applyPlease apply online by submitting your resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role via the provided link.Applications close at 11:59PM on Thursday, 6th March 2025.If you have further role-specific questions, please contact Charlie Cucuzza, Team Leader Building Permits & Inspections on 03 9742 0894.Wyndham City Council is committed to providing a recruitment experience that is fair, inclusive, and accessible.
