About the roleThere are 2x permanent, full time positions available, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 9 day fortnight based at the Bomaderry Depot.This position provides multi skilled technical knowledge and experience to diagnose, repair and maintain Councils assets in accordance with maintenance schedules, customers service level requirements and appropriate safety and quality standards.DutiesReporting directly to the Team Leader focus of this position is to:Fabricate, maintain and repair Council assets including steel water mains, steel and aluminium on water and sewerage installations, truck bodies, playground equipment, parks and street equipment, lids, rails and ladders.Ensure compliance with the Service Agreements both within council and with external customers, including the preparation, refinement and control of maintenance schedules.Execute significant planning on the job, planning of major shut downs, communication and negotiation with customers and asset owners and ordering parts and materials needed to complete the task within budget, efficiently and safely.Carry out the on-site measure and design of plant and equipment and specialised items for customers requirements through research and development.Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in the position, you will have:Trade certificateClass C Drivers LicenceCurrent NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, inclusive of apprenticeship experience.We are looking for someone with great trade knowledge and critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently assess problems and provide solutions.About Shoalhaven City CouncilShoalhaven City Council is a dynamic organisation serving a large and diverse community; limitless opportunity exists for an exciting and rewarding career.
