Our employees progress and develop their career in a safe environment.This role is based in the Upper Hunter, servicing the local network, including the newly approved Renewable Energy Zone.Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Protection Technician will oversee the maintenance and commissioning of protection, automation & control equipment within distribution, zone, and sub-transmission substations and networks. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, reliability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of our services for customers and the integrity of our network assets.Responsibility may include being available and participating in on-call and after-hours response. (Cert III Electrotechnology or equivalent)A WH&S Work Cover General InductionExperience in analysing electrical drawings (schematic diagrams is desirable)Sound computer skills for both office-based & industry-specific programs for testing, commissioning & interrogation of network assets.Skills & Qualifications (Not essential but advantageous):Experience in fault finding & problem solving.Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including control systems, instrumentation and automation equipment.
