Interviews and focus groups will be conducted by the qualitative research assistants with Greek, Mandarin or Vietnamese patients treated at Peter Mac or Austin Health. Interview and focus group audio recordings must then be transcribed and translated in English by the research assistants.This research aims to understand patients'' experiences managing treatment-related side effects and is part of a broader initiative to improve access to symptom support services, specifically symptom and urgent review clinics and clinical nurse consultants.The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following essential requirements:Must be bilingual in Greek, Mandarin OR Vietnamese for this position.Ability to hear and transcribe audio recordings in Greek, Mandarin or Vietnamese into EnglishExcellent written and oral communication skillsCurrent drivers license to travel between sites if requiredUnderstanding of medical terminologyExcellent organisational skillsSound knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software and typing proficiencyThe ideal candidate may also display the following desirable skills:Experience in medical clinical or qualitative researchA relevant tertiary qualification (science, healthcare or a clinical research related field)Knowledge and understanding of ICH-GCP and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human ResearchApplicants to this role should provide a covering letter outlining relative key skills and experience to assist us with our assessment.Applications Close: 10th March 2025Position SummaryThe research assistant role will be integral to the running of a multi-site qualitative, co-design research project with patients from a CALD background as well as healthcare professionals, carers and community representatives. You will assist with contacting and consenting study participants, some of whom will speak Mandarin, Vietnamese, Greek or Arabic as their primary language. You will facilitate focus groups and interviews and transcribe the audio recordings into English.
