The role is key to infusing our Elders with holistic wellbeing that is vital for their physical, emotional, cultural, mental and social wellbeing.The Lifestyle assistant plays a pivotal role implementing quality person directed lifestyle programs that meet personal needs, individual care plan and accreditation requirements that support Elders to maintain their independence and significantly enhance their quality of life. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:Implement the delivery of a range of social and recreational activities and develop activities to maintain individual activities of daily living and personal independenceComplete program documentation in accordance to organisational and departmental guidelinesAssist in the planning of programs according to preferencesWork cooperatively with and provide assistance to staff and other related professionalsAssist in the development of organisational policy and programs as requiredAbout you ...You will be self-motivated, flexible, caring and have a patient attitude, with an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner.QualificationsCertificate IV in Leisure and HealthCertificate III Aged Care preferredSkills:Previous experience as a Lifestyle Assistant in a community and/or residential settingAn understanding of Activities (music, craft), Dementia and Diversional therapyDisplay empathy and relate warmly and generously with older people.An ability to work with minimal supervision.Comfortable in communicating with elderly persons who may be frail and have levels of cognitive impairment.Demonstrated computer skills including accuracy and numeric skillsThe ability to create a caring environment and mix comfortably with Elders, staff and volunteers.The ability/willingness to learn/speak Dutch or another language advantageousYour previous experience working as a Personal Care Assistant would be highly advantageousA police check with no disclosable outcome, evidence of current flu vaccination and full COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.How to apply ...Please send through your resume and complete your work history and education information on the application page (you are encouraged to detail any certificates and licence(s) information under the education section), and well be in touch.
