A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.Candidates must be Brisbane based, or willing to relocate to Brisbane.What youll be doing:The Senior Manager, Group Strategy role is responsible for managing projects that define, develop and drive Virgin Australia''s strategic initiatives and overall strategy. The key responsibilities of the role include developing Virgin Australia''s strategic corporate plan and providing strong and visible leadership in managing projects across the organisation.In addition to working closely with the General Manager, Strategy and Transformation, the Senior Manager will need to manage key internal and external relationships including; the executive management team, group leadership team, regulatory and industry bodies and other key stakeholders as required.Further responsibilities include:Help to define and refine what it will take for the new Virgin Australia to be successful, how we best position ourselves for our guests and how we will measure up against the competitionApproach unique business challenges in a strategic, focused waySupport in the delivery of major transformational initiativesProvide ad-hoc decision support in high stakes, high priority business decisionsApply critical strategic thinking to inform important short, medium and long-term decisionsSupport initiative prioritisation within the team and broader organisationAnalysis of large datasets, and developing slide decks that synthesize key information to leadership teamsProvide thought leadership for projects in the organisationSupport the application of robust financial analysis, including airline operating economics, to inform strategic opportunitiesCommunicate succinctly and effectively across all levels, influencing key stakeholdersCollaborate with teams across the business to drive strategic objectivesHelp embed the new organisational strategy and support in the continued strategy development efforts, staying on top of the rapidly changing landscapeWorking with the transformation team to lead the company transformation program, and ideation of strategic, innovative, and cross functional projects.Youll be great in this role if you have:Bachelors degree in business, commercial or engineering. A Masters level degree/ MBA is highly desirableExtensive experience within a reputable management consulting firm in a Strategy focused team, or extensive experience in an inhouse Corporate Strategy role (ideally within aviation)Proven experience shaping the strategy for large, strategic/transformational projectsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to build out complex models and analyse large, complex datasetsTrack record of delivering key insights and making impactful decisionsPossess practical understanding of commercial operations and financial managementExceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to shape decision making processes and collaborate with other teamsLeadership experience and the ability to build a strong reputation internallyAn understanding of aviation economics and success drivers is highly advantageousWhat youll get from us:Were committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry including (but not limited to):Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)Flexible working arrangements (including work hours and work from home).
