$86,731.57 Full Time Base Salary + 11.5% superannuation + generous salary packaging optionsBased in MelbourneFull-time (part time options will be considered)2-Year Fixed Term contract with a view to permanencyAbout the Baker InstituteThe Baker Heart Diabetes Institute (BHDI) is Australias only medical research institute focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diabetes and heart disease.An exciting time to join the BHDI as we head toward our Centenary in 2026.About the RoleThe Gift in Wills team sits within the Community and Corporate Relations (CCR) Department which is responsible for raising revenue by engaging donors in our mission through regular giving, individual giving, gift in wills and major gifts.The Gift in Wills Officer works within the Gift in Wills Team to build a sustainable gift in wills program by effectively prospecting, cultivating and soliciting Gift in Wills prospects, through the principles of fundraising moves.As the Gift in Wills Officer you will be the friendly, first point of contact for all Gift in Wills enquiries. You will focus on soliciting Gift in Wills prospects to increase pipeline conversion and Gift in Wills income for BHDI. You will also steward BHDIs passionate confirmed bequestors through phone-based engagement, direct mail, events and digital activities.This is a great opportunity to kick start your fundraising career within a donor centric fundraising team that is well integrated into the broader organisation and offers ongoing professional development opportunities tailored to your needs.Key DutiesIn this role you will be expected to:Maximise future gift in Wills revenue by growing the number of confirmed gift in Wills supporters and increasing the active donor base.Produce regular activity plans and individualised engagement for an agreed caseload of up to 400 donors, including the moves management stages of identification, cultivation, asking and stewarding donors.Report regularly on donor stewardship, cultivation and solicitation results as requested.Develop relationships with existing, new, and potential gift in Wills supporters and information seekers.Implement cultivation and stewardship activities including private tours, boardroom meetings, functions and donor reports.Reply to all requests for further information and follow up as required. Participate in developing and improving highly effective communication and fundraising strategies across the CCR team.Encourage and inspire donors to consider leaving a gift to BHDI in their Will.Work collaboratively with other members of the fundraising team to maximise revenues across income streams.Ensure positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Other duties as required.About YOU!We are seeking someone with a friendly and professional manner who can relate sensitively to people and engage with a mature audience. Ideally, you are skilled at managing donors in a customer relationship management (CRM) system and are highly skilled at performing a range of administrative tasks.
