Harbison is governed by a Board of Directors which appoints a Chief Executive Officer who is delegated with day-to-day responsibility for the organisation.The RoleSeeking two Nurse Unit Managers to join the Harbison team to work across residential aged care facilities (Burradoo & Moss Vale). Manage and mentor Registered & Enrolled Nurses whilst leading by example in person-centred resident care.In this role, you will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):Co-ordination of resident servicesLiaison with all health care disciplines for the provision of services to meet resident needs.Implementation and coordination of case conferences and care planning.Orchestrating person-centred care.Providing leadership and role modelling, in collaboration with others, particularly in the areas of action research and quality improvement programs.Acting as a consultant on request in the employees own area of proficiency for the purpose of facilitating the provision of quality nursing care.Unit ManagementParticipating in policy development and implementation.Dissemination of information to all personnel.Ensuring environmental safety.Monitoring the use and maintenance of equipment.Being accountable for the management of human and material resources within a specified span of control, including the development and evaluation of staffing methodologies.Managing financial matters, budget preparation and cost control within the clinical realm.Nursing Staff ManagementStaff selection and education.Direction, coordination and supervision of nursing activities.Training, appraisal and counselling of nursing staff.Rostering and allocation of nursing staff.Development and/or implementation of new nursing practices according to resident need.REQUIREMENTSRegistered Nurse with post qualifications in geriatric or dementia specialised nursing, holding a current AHPRA registration.Sound clinical knowledge, skills and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.Experience in an Aged Care Management role would be highly regarded.Current knowledge of reporting and performance processes for Residential Aged Care Facilities under current legislation.Previous experience in leadership and/or managing teams, as well as experience with budgets.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to change.Ability to complete relevant documentation in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care needs of residents.Strong communication, written, organisational and computer skills.Hardworking, reliable and the ability to work in a team environment.The ability to take leadership, work under pressure, prioritise and multi-task.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to act as resident advocates and educators.Ideally, you will have experience in the Aged Care sector and a working knowledge of the Aged Care Planning and Assessment process; however, this is not essential.
