Consultant Psychiatrist - Child and AdolescentVisiting Medical Specialist (regular face to face consult, in person) and TelehealthDarwin, Northern Territory12 month contractFlights, car and accommodation providedThe Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team provides specialist mental health services for young people experiencing with severe and complex mental illness and their families/carers.This contractor position offers flexibility, excellent remuneration, and the chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team.What you''ll be doingProvide forensic psychiatric care to child and adolescent clients in youth corrections facilitiesProvide urgent psychiatric assessments where necessary, including at-risk assessmentsReview clients under your care one day per week through telehealthCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams weekly to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patientsAttend onsite at Royal Darwin Hospital for one week, every second monthResponsible for ensuring psychiatric cover for your patients while you are awayProvide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse backgroundsMaintaining detailed and accurate client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policiesWhat we''re looking forA medical degree with specialist qualifications in Psychiatry (FRANZCP) and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Medicare Provider Number.Comprehensive experience in clinical practice and provision of mental health assessment, treatment and case management, including with young people in a tertiary mental health serviceAbility to develop, implement and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments and diagnostic formulationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsAbility to participate in policy and service development within the program and in continuous quality improvement through ongoing evaluation of servicesA commitment to delivering the highest standard of client-centred careMinimum / Essential RequirementsFellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)AHPRA registrationAustralia working rightsAll appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and an NT Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
