Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Guidance Officer to be based in Bundaberg Regional Office and play a key role in the region''s delivery of regional guidance services.You will collaborate with Principals to coordinate and provide guidance and counselling services to schools, considering the needs of diverse students. You will develop and implement a system of clinical and technical supervision, in partnership with Principals, to ensure the appropriate and effective guidance practices.This is a temporary full-time position, to commence in Term 1 2025 until 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determined.About The DepartmentThe Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.About The RoleThis position is line managed by Deputy Principal Education Officer: Student Services.As the Senior Guidance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinate and maintain professional development for guidance and counselling skills.Provide direct guidance services to students in consultation with Principals.Work closely with Principals and school-based guidance officers to ensure effective guidance and counselling services are delivered to students.Support and coordinate the provision of guidance services to schools in collaboration with Principals.Develop and implement a system for technical and clinical supervision with Principals to ensure guidance services meet needs, focusing on psychoeducational practices, personal, career, course counselling, and behaviour management interventions.Participate in regional Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) teams and lead the development of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary networks to provide holistic support for the complex educational, personal, and vocational needs of students and the community.Design and implement training, induction, and supervisory programs for Guidance Officers.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
