Join us in shaping the future of healthcare in Regional Queensland.Your Opportunity:Deliver high level clinical Social Work services within the Fraser Coast Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit to ensure optimal assessment, clinical intervention, and discharge planning occurs for health service consumers as part of a broader multidisciplinary team.Work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide high level clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and carers within Mental Health and Specialised Services. Provide high level profession specific services, consultation and support, as required, within the team and service.Provide expert advice on effective service delivery throughout the review and redevelopment of a newly expanded model of care, to include contemporary multidisciplinary services within the Fraser Coast Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit.The Social Work role will be expected to bring a particular focus on psycho-social aspects to optimise the patient assessment and treatment and care planning by connecting, advocating and developing partnerships to enhance recovery.What we''re looking for:Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in two or more clinical areas as an advanced generalist within Occupational Therapy.Demonstrated high level knowledge of Social Work practice theories, social legislation and policies and expertise and skill in assessment and intervention, particularly in an Acute Mental Health Inpatient environment.Proven high level of communication, interpersonal and consultative skills required to work cooperatively and effectively with members of other disciplines and to liaise with relevant community service providers.Demonstrated ability to provide Social Work clinical services of a complex nature, exercise risk management and apply established ethical principles and practice standards in complex psychosocial situations.Demonstrated ability to assess and respond in a professional manner to complex clinical issues for consumers of the WBHHS where intervention is primarily crisis orientated.Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.Preferred Qualifications:Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a certification of eligibility letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
