Environmental and social awareness play a vital role in our message that highlights the indigenous culture and human influence on the environment.The PositionThis is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an exciting team at Sydney Zoo in the role of our Cleaning Team Leader, utilising your skills in an area that you are genuinely passionate about. This role will commence as soon as possible.The Cleaning Team Leader will be tasked with the management and supervision of the Sydney Zoo cleaning crew ensuring cleanliness is maintained to a high standard throughout Sydney Zoo and ensuring cleaning duties are undertaken in accordance with an agreed schedule and to a required standard.Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant ExperienceEssentialDemonstrated experience overseeing general cleaning and maintenance tasks for a large organisationPrevious experience coordinating rosters and leading a small teamDemonstrated ability to follow and relay verbal directions clearlyExcellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently and positively contribute to a team environmentSound knowledge of cleaning product supplies and techniques for cleaningExcellent customer service and communication skills both written and verbalPhysically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routines, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time including in challenging weatherDemonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques, procedures, and equipmentDemonstrated ability to follow a schedule, with the added ability to prioritise tasks by level of importanceReliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to tasks and dutiesAbility to adapt to changing schedules or routines, excellent time management skillsAbility to deal with a variety of staff and clients in a professional mannerAbility to work under pressure in a busy environmentKnowledge of and commitment to Workplace Health and SafetyFlexibility to work weekends and public holidaysDesirableCleaning qualification Certificate II or aboveFirst Aid certificationDriver license and the ability to drive a manual vehicleWhy should you join the Zoo Crew?By joining the exciting Sydney Zoo Crew, you will not only be in close proximity to some of the most incredible animals native to Australia and across the world, but you will also join an amazing team of dedicated people!
