DescriptionPOSITION HOURSPart time, weekday morningsPOSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Leader, Youth Development the Program Aide is responsible for implementing a variety of youth programs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.RequirementsEssential FunctionsEngage with youth ages 1-12 years in a fun and safe environmentImplement and provide input on youth program curriculaEstablish good rapport with parents and children Keep accurate rosters and attendance records Effectively communicate with supervisor, peers, parents and participantsEnsure a safe and clean environment for childrenReliably work various hours Monday - SundayAdditional Functions:Must have the physical and mental ability to teach a variety of athletic and enrichment programs and move equipment as necessary (approx. 25 lbs.)Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in the event of emergency situations Observation and oversight of group participant activitiesEnforce safety regulations and behavior correction according to YMCA standards when necessaryWork well in fast-paced environmentsEstablish harmonious relations with staff team, volunteers, participants/members, and local partnersAbility to lead groups of participants in activities REQUIREMENTSMust pass YMCA background checkCompletion of all job-related trainings within 30 days of hireCPR/First Aid or ability to acquire within 30 days of employmentPrior work experience with youth and parents preferredBi-lingual in English and Spanish preferredReliable transportation to travel to sites across South Region if requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in person, primarily on site at the Sherwood Regional Family YMCA. Additional hours throughout South Region could become available. Work attire; clean nice bottoms (black/khaki pants/shorts), staff shirt, and YMCA name tag. #J-18808-Ljbffr
